Vennue Expands to Nepal!

Please welcome Mandip Pokharel, Program Assistant leading Vennue's operations in Nepal. Mandip earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy (First Division) from Kathmandu University while participating in community health projects targeting tuberculosis and diabetes. World Health Day 2016: Beat Diabetes

Since 1980 the number of adults living with diabetes has quadrupled to 422 million. As diabetes prevalence is rising especially in low- and middle-income countries, VENNUE is answering the WHO's call to action for health systems to provide quality diagnosis, treatment and care for patients living with this chronic disease. In VENNUE's training seminars, pharmacy workers practice patient counseling techniques so that they can advise patients to take medicines correctly and to make healthy lifestyle choices. #WorldHealthDay #diabetes

Mirajul Islam Samrat is Vennue's newest Program Assistant in Dhaka, helping to implement capacity building projects across Bangladesh. In 2015 Samrat was a Vennue Intern while completing his Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honors at Stamford University Bangladesh. He brings to Vennue a passion for healthcare and a proven ability to train and mentor others. While previously working as Assistant Training Manager at Pizza Hut, Samrat received the international chain's "Rising Star" Award. Please welcome Samrat, Vennue's own rising star!

As participants in the WHO campaign "Antibiotics: Handle With Care," Vennue's pharmacy students in Bangladesh are advancing their knowledge and practice of rational antibiotic use, including communication strategies to raise patient understanding of infection prevention and promote the appropriate use of quality antibiotics.

Vennue will make its global debut at the 2015 annual conference of the International Pharmaceutical  Federation where early results of our work in Bangladesh will be presented to practioners, researchers and academics from around world. CEO Tammy Allen and Bangladesh Country Director Mohammad Abusyed will travel to Dusseldorf to represent Vennue.
