Community Outreach

Vennue is one of the only organizations raising public awareness of key issues at the nexus of pharmacy care and community health in underserved areas.

In rural and urban locations, we are catalyzing grassroots-level change through public education on topics like hygiene, mental health, chronic disease prevention, and antimicrobial resistance.

We organize groups of pharmacy students and faculty volunteers to visit schools, hospitals, and the community at large. These campaigns share key information with community pharmacy workers in remote areas, engaging them in our movement and generating interest in our programs.

Spotlight: World Antimicrobial Awareness Week

Empowering Pharmacists as Frontline Defenders Against AMR

To combat one of the most significant threats to global health, the Vennue AMR Initiative equips pharmacy professionals with the specialized tools and training needed to lead antimicrobial stewardship in their communities. By delivering targeted education on responsible antibiotic use, infection prevention, and patient counseling, Vennue empowers local healthcare providers to prevent the misuse of life-saving medicines. Through strategic outreach In partnership with the Rwanda Pharmaceutical Students' Association (RPSA),—including school campaigns, radio broadcasts, and peer-to-peer collaboration—this initiative bridges the gap between global standards and local practice. As a recognized member of the WHO Civil Society Task Force on AMR, Vennue fosters a proactive network that ensures essential antimicrobials remain effective for the patients who need them most.

Spotlight: Patient-Centered Cancer Care

Strengthening Local Health Systems to Fight Cancer

To address the growing burden of non-communicable diseases, the Vennue Cancer Care Program provides interdisciplinary training that empowers healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.

Through specialized training, Vennue equips pharmacists and clinicians with essential skills in cancer biology, drug management, palliative care, and infection control. By partnering with local institutions, such as the Kathmandu Cancer Center (KCC), Vennue ensures that frontline workers can effectively counsel patients, manage complex treatment regimens, and improve access to preventive screening. This initiative bridges critical gaps in specialist knowledge, transforming local pharmacies into trusted hubs for life-saving cancer support and long-term survivorship care.

Partnership is key. Our challenges in pharmacy are the same and if we collaborate, we can generate more impact together.
